2014 Winter Olympics

On February 16 , Moldovan skier Georg Lindner performed at the Olympic Games in Sochi. Unfortunately , the performance of our athlete wasn’t that good and George withdrew from the tournament at the last stage. He was the last representative of the Moldovan national team at Winter Olympics in Sochi , which means it’s time to summarize.

The most successful performance was the one of the slider Bogdan Macovei , who took the 36th place, but it is worth considering that the competition was attended by 39 athletes. Alexandra Camenscic took 84th place out of 84 possible in biathlon individual race and 71th of 75 in the ski race. Skier Victor Pinzaru not qualified for the main tournament, took the 77th position among 86 participants in sprint skiing.

Winter Olympics have never become successful for our representatives, but it only means that we still have space to grow and get better.

P.S. There is still something that can make Moldovans to be proud about – the choreographer of the ball at the grand-opening ceremony was Radu Poclitaru and the music was of Eugen Doga.
